Transits: Changing Fortunes – Pop Quiz

After looking back through old posts and coming across one about the transits/ significant changes in a person’s life and thinking more about the ten to twenty major events that occur in an individual’s lifespan. I decided to look more at our changing lives and fortunes. Jupiter and Pluto have a lot to say about our changing fortunes, and even Saturn is said to be an indicator of limitations and ‘bad luck’. Saturn is also a signification for a time in…

Jupiter-Uranus Transits: Free Ride

Do you remember how the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Aries got all astrologers really excited, including me? After expecting good things to happen, there was the feeling that it passed over quickly without leaving anything tangible behind. The Jupiter-Uranus period was like having a free ride for a while. In astrology, Jupiter-Uranus transits signify a time when we crave new experiences, and it’s when we break out of monotonous situations, experience some good fortune, and unexpected opportunities. The time can indicate…

29th Degree Transits in Astrology

When transits are at the edge of a sign and ready to move into the next zodiacal symbol they are always fascinating to observe and with the latest giant wave in Japan it might just attest to the power of the last degrees of any sign. Neptune was on the last degrees of Aquarius and Uranus on the last degrees of Pisces (both in mutual reception) when the power of the ocean (Neptune) unleashed its full force. There are many…

Uranus Opposite Uranus: Mid-Life Crisis

Uranus takes eighty-four years to complete its orbit around the Sun, and it forms an opposition to its natal position in the birth chart when the individual is between the ages of forty and forty-two. It occurs at the same time as what psychologists refer to as the mid-life crisis. Saturn is also in opposition to its natal position at this age, according to astrology. Uranus is the planet of emancipation, freedom, expression, and fresh mental concepts that force their…

Orbs

Astrologers often talk about the degree of orbs for an aspect, which can lead to very heated arguments. Some astrologers won’t go beyond 5–6 degrees for major aspects, while others will be more generous and use an 8-degree orb in natal astrology. I use wider orbs and have found that they work. Liz Greene, a well-known astrologer, calculates all major aspects at 10 degrees and the sextile at 6 degrees. For the transiting planets, and their aspects she also uses these degrees. …

Uranus Transits Sun: Baby Boom

The last Baby Boom period on a world level happened when transiting Pluto was in Leo (children). However, apparently the babies born in 2007 in the U.S broke this earlier record, and seemingly it increased so much because of the span of ages. Older mothers and younger mothers and unmarried women were all having babies. At this point in time, Uranus in was Pisces forming a trine to America’s Sun in Cancer and this may have been the cause of…

Uranus Transits Mars: The Emancipation of Mars

Uranus transits can describe a period when we feel liberated in our lives, and it can be a tremendously exhilarating phase. One of the keywords for Uranus – is change, but all the outer planets signify a change in some form. However, the sort of change Uranus demands are usually revolutionary and force us to break free from our self-imposed shackles. Emancipation is often a word we hear used over in America when a child emancipates from his or her…

Uranus conjuncts Venus

I found this great shot of Cindy Crawford, and this revolutionary beauty picture was taken in 1995 when transiting Uranus was conjunct Cindy’s Venus in Capricorn on the 29th degree . The inaugural issue of George, a short lived political magazine in the 1990s, featured Crawford dressed like George Washington on the cover. In 2005, The American Society of Magazine Editors listed it as the 22nd best magazine cover of the last 40 years. Uranus is the planet of revolution…

The Astrology of Cheating

Curiosity got the better of me, and I began thinking about what I might see on a lover’s chart if he cheated. There was no information available for the “victims” of a cheating spouse in this tiny sample of charts, which was disappointing. These “cheaters’ horoscopes, on the other hand, had some noteworthy observations that were worth mentioning. First and foremost, it was discovered that transiting Neptune commonly aspected the Sun and/or Mars in the charts of persons who had…

Counting Down the Days

Transits unfold the potential within in each natal chart, and they also make us more aware of complex patterns and the fixed beliefs we hold about ourselves. Natal charts are frozen and motionless until a transiting planet comes along and activates our horoscope. A transit describes a journey on course for a destination with an arrival time and a time of departure. Unlike trains, transits are always on time; there are no delays unless it’s a Saturn transit then the…
